We have improved the coupling geometry of the glass tube for effective transmission of the PZT vibrations on the glass orifice. The glass tube was fixed to a 0.2-mm stainless-steel circular plate with chemical adhesives that is not reactive to water. The stainless-steel plate was mechanically coupled to a stainless-steel holder by an O ring. Because the range of the cylindrical water jet emerging from the glass orifice was small, the length of the glass tube was relatively long (∼2 cm) to allow the microscope to have access to the water jet.
