For a recent treatment of the topic, including post-Hapgood work, see:1995;Crown, New York, Charles Hapgood studied ancient maps and was firmly convinced that ancient seafaring peoples had accurately mapped not only Europe but also the western hemisphere and Antarctica as well. He sought confirmation of his theories and found it in a 1531 map by Orenteus Finaeus in the Library of Congress collection. To his disappointment, his discovery was ignored by his peers.

Due to the dynamic nature of the database, different results would be obtained if the search were repeated. Similarly, different results would be obtained on other OPACs. In any case, the general principles would remain the same.
