    • This bifunctional initiator was synthesized by the reaction of 1,1-diphenylethylene and lithium naphthalenide in THF at -78 °C just prior the polymerization. The corresponding potassium salt was similarly prepared from 1,1-diphenylethylene and potassium naphthalenide.
