    • The Drosophila endocycle is controlled by Cyclin E and lacks a checkpoint ensuring S-phase completion
    • of outstanding interest. In this paper, the role of Cyclin E in endocycle S phases is addressed. The genome is usually under-replicated in these S phases but a hypomorphic mutation in cyclin E that alters its normal fluctuations causes complete replication. Expression of Cyclin E in these cells also causes complete replication, demonstrating that Cyclin E is limiting for replication in these cells.
