21. Alcohols 14 and 15 were only partially separable and the optical rotation for (+)-14 was determined on a mixture 92:8 (after purification by flash-chromatography) of (+)-14 and 15 respectively. Alcohol 15 could not be isolated pure because of its very similar Retention factor to that of (+)-14 and its low percentage in the mixture.
