    • Helmchen H, Linden M, Wernicke T: Psychiatric morbidity in old age. Results from the Berlin aging study. Nervenarzt 1996, 67:739 750. A survey of a stratified sample of old and very old Berlin citizens. The extremely careful and exacting multidisciplinary investigations may have led to the high number of dropouts. The paper presents the psychiatric data, which are part of a much more complete picture. The prevalence of major depression is higher than previously found [39]; still minor depression is more frequent.
