This small series of laparoscopic resection for patients with Crohn's disease shows that it can be accomplished without significant complications. This paper shows that patients can be fed earlier after open colectomy than was thought possible in traditional thinking. Unlike laparoscopic techniques, however, there were no benefits noted in length of ileus or length of hospital stay.
