    • Evidence for limited B-lymphopoiesis in adult rabbits
    • of outstanding interest. This paper provides the first molecular evidence that very little B-lymphopoiesis is occurring in the adult rabbit. The authors showed that in eight week old rabbits, essentially all V(D)J genes in both peripheral B cells and bone marrow cells are highly somatically diversified. Further, by searching for V-D and D-J recombination circles, the authors found little evidence for ongoing V-D and D-J recombination in the bone marrow of adult rabbits, indicating little if any B lymphopoiesis occurs in adult rabbit.
