15. 11 which is in contrast to our findings. The diazido compound in this earlier report was obtained from the repeated oxidations and reductions of 3,4-diazido-3,4-dideoxy-D-iditol. We believe that the (+)-diazido compound should be named as 2,3-diazido-2,3-dideoxy-L-threitol in the classic D-L system of stereochemical designations.
