Using closely spaced gastric biopsies, this report demonstrates a relationship between the inflammatory response and the expression of interleukin-8 in patients infected with a CagA plus strain of H. pylori.

Another study demonstrating that cagA plus strains of H. pylori are associated with increased levels of interleukin-8 expression in the gastric mucosa as well as more severe inflammation.
