The stereodescriptor for π coordinated ring ligands is attributed according to the CIP rules for stereogenic centers and refers to the ring atom with highest priority. We suggest the application of this nomenclature (Sloan, E., Top. Stereochem. 1981, 12, 1-39) for complexes of heterocycles as well. Thus, in 1a the P atom has the highest priority. See also: Davies, S. G.; Edwards, A. J.; Shipton, M. R., J. Chem. Soc., Perkin Trans. 1991, 1009-1017.
