The impact of exfoliation syndrome on therapeutic efficacy in open-angle glaucoma
-
Tarkannen A, Hietanen J: The impact of exfoliation syndrome on thera•• peutic efficacy in open-angle glaucoma. Curr Opin Ophthalmol 1995, 6:10-14. This article deals with the impact of the exfoliation syndrome on therapeutic efficacy in open-angle glaucoma. The authors conclude that the results of both medical and long-term laser treatment are ineffective, which leads to progressive visual field damage. Thus, filtering procedures are indicated at an earlier stage in exfoliative glaucoma than in primary open-angle glaucoma.
