3. Tufts of cyanobacteria were found on the tips of P. cylindrica colonies (-1 to -2 meters in depth) on the shallow fringe reefs of Guam, Yap, Chuuk, and Pohnpei throughout 1995 and 1996. Voucher specimen on file with William H. Gerwick's herbarium (Oregon State University College of Pharmacy).
