12. For preparing Boc amino acid cesium salt 1 g. of Boc amino acid was dissolved in 5 ml ethanol and diluted with 2 ml of water. The pH of this solution was adjusted to 7.0 by adding aqueous cesium bicarbonate. The solvent was removed by azeotropic distillation in the presence of benzene. The Boc amino acid cesium salts were obtained as white powders which were then used without further purification.
