Prevention of pain associated with the administration of propofol in children: Lidocaine versus ketamine
-
Tobias JD: Prevention of pain associated with the administration of propofol in children: lidocaine versus ketamine. Am J Anesthesiol 1996, 23:231-232. In this prospective study comparing ketamine with lidocaine for the prevention of pain with the intravenous administration of propofol, ketamine (0.5 mg/kg intravenous) was much more effective than lidocaine in preventing discomfort associated with propofol administration.
