18. 3H]acetate prelabeled chicken reticulocyte histones (10 μl, 4 mg/ml) and compounds (final conc. 30 μM). Reaction was stopped by 1 M HCl/0.4 M acetate (36 μl) and ethyl acetate (800 μl). After centrifugation (10.000 g, 5 min) an aliquot of the upper phase (600 μl) was counted for radioactivity in liquid scint. cocktail (3 ml).
