She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from Michigan State University supported in part by the M SU Dean's Distinguished Fellowship in Engineering. Prior to coming to SIUC, Dr. Chevalier worked as an intern at General Motors NAO R&D Center in the Environmental Science Department and as a visiting professor at Bttcknell'University.
