Samples were collected with a Gilson 202 programmable fraction collector at 0.5-min intervals. Scintillation fluid (Scintillant Ultima Flo AP, Canberra Packard, Groningen, Netherlands) was added to the fractions, and radioactivity was determined by counting with quench correction.

Hamill, A. Marty, E. Neher, B. Sakmann, F. J. Sigworth, Pfluegers Arch. Eur. J. Physiol. 391, 85 (1981)] was used with an Axopatch 200 patch-clamp amplifier (Axon Instruments). Voltage steps were generated, digitized, and stored with the program pClamp (Axon Instruments) and Labmaster ADC (Scientific Solutions, Solon, OH). The current responses were filtered at 1 kHz with a Bessel filter (-3-dB point).
