    • 6. Isolation of a considerable amount of 1-iodo-1-decyne may suggest intermediacy of some radical species. In fact, use of a radical inhibitor 1,1-diphenylethene and 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine N-oxyl (TEMPO) as an additive decreased the yields of the alkyne and tropolone 2-oxodecyl ether.
