17. 15. CVC hypothesis is stronger than the statement that the vector current is conserved, which is true even if the symmetry is spontaneously broken. CVC relates weak interaction matrix elements to those of electromagnetic ones by isospin rotation. It has been tested by experiments to be essentially a good symmetry.
