    • The customary name for these groups has, until now, been "quantum groups." However, this term is by now the standard one for Hopf algebras (which, it is worth to point out here, are not groups). In addition to this, a more appropriate name for these groups, which best mirrows their raison d'etre and utility, is "quantizing groups." This, quantizing groups, will therefore be the terminology used in this paper and we shall try to maintain it in future publications on the subject.
