    • The model of RO·F binding for ROH·F is imperfect, since the proton in ROH exerts a different electrostatic effect than does the electron pair in RO·. Without any quantitative information on this point, we chose the best available model. As noted below, when sufficient data exist for complex formation and photodetachment, it may be possible to evaluate these neutral binding energies more precisely.
