7. Methylation also had the effect of stabilizing dictyosphaerin, which even in the dark at < 0 °C underwent complete decomposition in less than 2 weeks.
8. HMQC of the methyl ester 2 without the addition of shift reagent showed the chemical shifts of these methines were little effected by the shift reagent [11-H (σ 1.67) and 16-H (σ 2.32)].
