    • For metal substrates, such as Ag, dissociative electron attachment processes dominate the photochemistry of the first few layers (see refs 16 and 17). However at high coverages (> 10 ML), it has been shown that the photochemistry and photodynamics of multilayers can be understood in terms of a direct excitation of the adsorbed molecule and substrate effects become of little importance (see refs 18-24).
