The Canadian Manufacturers Association conducted a survey in 1995 of manufacturing firms and came to similar conclusions. They published their results in a report entitled Manufacturing our future which can be obtained from them. Another result of their survey is that manufacturers have difficulty in obtaining relevant intelligence about how externally developed technologies should best be employed.
