    • We have periodically poled (4 μm period) a 1-mm-thick KTP substrate using this technique. A blue output power of 233 μW was generated from 330 mW of infrared light loosely focused in the crystal. The width of the phase matching response indicated an effective interaction length of 3.8 mm, in good agreement with the physical length (4.5 mm) of the poled region.
