note
-
There are a number of commercial publishers offering popular or non-peer reviewed serials on the World Wide Web, which are full or partial versions of print serials. Some of these include The CMP Technology Database, which provides editorial content from many of its publications and Ziff-Davis. The publisher of Omni, a popular press publication, converted from print to World Wide Web publishing exclusively in 1995. According to one estimate, there are, as of March 1996, approximately 175 online newspapers available on the World Wide Web (William Casey, Washington Post, Mar. 11, 1996, Washington Business section, 20). Many of these provide partial content from the print versions.
