The market value for the entire village was calculated by multiplying Limón's average household market values for wild foods per hectare by the average number of extended households in the village (28.6) and by 75% to take into account some households engaging in wage labor rather than collection. The average number of extended households was calculated by dividing Limón's population of 343 by the average study household size of 12.
