    • Excess sulphur deposition is the total amount of sulphur deposited above the critical load within the modelled area (Asia or Europe). It is calculated by adding up the critical load exceedance (ie the deposition minus the critical load whenever this quantity is positive) from each grid cell and multiplying it with the area of the cell
