The term 'weak localization' is ill-defined and often misunderstood. Here we use it to refer to the non-analytical behaviour of electronic correlation functions in the limit of zero momentum and/or frequency that is induced by quenched disorder, or by a combination of interactions and quenched disorder, which occurs even if the system is far from any kind of metal-insulator transition. The physical reason for these non-analylicities is the diffusive motion of the electrons in the presence of quenched disorder; for a detailed discussion see, for example [10, 11].
