The surface potentials U(z) used in this paper, such as those defined in eq 3.8, represent physical free energy differences, and are therefore convoluted with the reflecting boundary condition response functions. In ref 13, we defined the U(z) to correspond to twice the physical free energy difference, since these were to be convoluted with the free response functions.
