23. The measurement of t can be done at any sufficiently low vertical position for the sample to be no longer superfluid. In order to avoid the effect of the boundary resistance at the sample bottom, this measurement would best be made with a thermometer mounted on a side plane near but above the sample bottom, as was done for instance in Ref. 12.
