    • The numbers in this case were impressive. One of the founding members, the United Senior Citizens of Ontario, has over 1,000 seniors clubs throughout the province. Another founder, the Ontario Coalition of Senior Citizen Organizations, is a non-profit umbrella group of organizations with extensive experience in lobbying and political activism, representing over 300000 seniors. The third founding member of the Alliance was the Consumers' Association of Canada (Ontario) with longstanding involvement in health issues. Together the Alliance boasted that it represented about 1 million people, which at the time made it the largest consumer organization in provincial history.
