12. This problem with large contact resistances in the In/Ni samples may have been related to the electrochemical reactions reported in [7], although given the tendency of In to resist oxidation we doubt this explanation. Note that [7] found this not to be a problem with Pb/Ni sandwiches.
13. We should also note that measurements of the boundary resistance of superconductor-ferromagnet sandwiches [11] found resistances much too small to account for the temperature and field dependences that we observe.

16. We should note that recent studies of similarly prepared Ni films, such as Hong K and Giordano N 1995 Phys. Rev. B 51 9855 have not shown dips in R(H) like those reported here, nor have they found a temperature dependence of R resembling that seen in our structures. Hence, the behaviour that we find is not due to the Ni alone.
