12. The first reported molecular beam studies of gas - liquid collisions were performed by F. C. Hurlbut and D. E. Beck (U.S. Eng. Proj. Report HE-150-166, University of California), who recorded total angular distributions of rare gases scattering from liquid metals. This work was followed by M. P. Sinha and J. B. Fenn (Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Molecular Beams, Nice, 1975), who recorded total angular distributions of rare gases scattering from glycerol.
