    • It is possible to postulate further that the Mn ions are not uniformly distributed but rather are clumped on a length scale comparable with the excitonic Bohr radius. We believe that this is not the case because it would result in an increase in the photoluminescence excitation linewidth with increasing magnetic fields as excitons in regions with different Mn concentrations experience correspondingly different Zeeman splittings, which does not occur.
