    • The Polysciences PLPAMAM-5 material is slightly larger than the LPAMAM-5 prepared in our laboratory. The absorption maximum of the former was blue shifted from the normal FITC value (near 4900 Å). We believe the PLPAMAM-5 to be a heavily labeled material which may exhibit self-quenching. The LPAMAM-5 prepared in our own lab, whose diffusion behavior is shown in Figure 3, gave a normal absorption spectrum.
