    • Christoph Stamm was born in 1963 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. He received a Diploma in physics (1989) and a Ph.D. degree (1994), both from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zürich, Switzerland. His Diploma work on an integrated optical grating-coupler sensor and his Ph.D. thesis on the difference interferometer were done in Professor Luskosz' group. Since 1995 he has been working in the same group as a post-doctoral fellow on applications of the difference interferometer.

    • Walter Lukosz received a Diploma in physics (1956) and a Ph.D. degree (1958), both from the Technical University Braunschweig, Germany. In the period 1965-1969 he was a lecturer in physics at the same university. In 1970 he became professor of optics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zürich.
