    • There seems to be also a distinct influence of the area of the gold electrodes present on the QMB towards the optimal amount of compound used to modify the QMB. It was namely observed that upon applying a QMB with a smaller gold area that only upon modifying the QMB with a maximum amount of 20 μ.g of the metalloporphyrin the device was able to oscillate, based on this results the QMBs with the larger gold area were applied for the other studies.
