The selectivity and reactivity of α-phenylthioacetylene and β-phenylthioacetylene were quite different for hydrosilylation; in the case of α-phenylthioacetylene, the reaction underwent in high selectivity and high yield, and usually finished in 20 minutes; as for β-phenylthioacetylene, it often afforded 10% to 20% of regioisomers in 1,2-dichloroethane solvent.
