The urodynamic impact of transrectal high intensity focused ultrasound on bladder outflow obstruction
-
in press
-
Madersbacher S, Klingler HC, Schatzl G, Schmidbauer CP, Marberger M: The urodynamic impact of transrectal high intensity focused ultrasound on bladder outflow obstruction. Eur Urol 1996 (in press). This study demonstrates that transrectal HIFU is capable of decreasing the degree of bladder outflow obstruction assessed by pressure flow studies. As the urodynamic changes have to be classified as moderate, this procedure should only be considered for moderately obstructed patients.
