The paper describes the results of a multivariate twin analysis of six disorders in women. Evidence is presented for two common genetic components. One is shared by depression and generalized anxiety disorders. The other is shared by phobia, panic disorder and bulimia. Alcoholism is genetically distinct from the other disorders.

This paper presents heritability estimates for anxiety symptoms in a large population-based twin sample of children and adolescents. Parent-reported twin anxiety was highly hentable. In contrast, self-reported anxiety in adolescent twins was primarily environmental in origin.
