    • 4 buffer (pH 5.5) for the first 5 min followed by a linear gradient to 50% of a 60/40 methanol/water solution over the next 10 min. All of the rate constants were obtained by first-order kinetics methods (first three half-lives) except for the slowest rate in Figure 1, which was obtained by initial rate methods. The data points in Figures 1 and 2 are averages of at least three runs, and the error bars represent (±) three standard deviations.
