Rate of Helicobacter pylori acquisition among Finnish Adults
-
Sipponen P, Kosunen TU, Samloff OP, Heinonen OP, Siurala M: Rate of Helicobacter pylori acquisition among Finnish Adults. Scand J Gastroenterol 1996, 31:229-232. Overall annual acquisition rate of H. pylori during a 15-year follow-up occurs in 0.44% of individuals. This low rate is similar in all birth cohorts. Together with the high prevalence rates of chronic gastritis these data underline the assumption that H. pylori infection occurs during childhood.
