A prerequisite for investigations along these lines would be the availability of algorithms capable of geometry optimizations/energy minimizations at the seam of crossing between ground and excited state PES at the applied level of theory. At present, no such code is available to us and thus we are restricted to the investigation of minimum energy reaction pathways, which occur on a single PES.
