J Exp Med 1995, 181:2289-2293. In this study, interleukin-10 delivered to mice by means of cationic liposome-mediated human gene transfer is shown to reduce mortality in these animals after challenge with endotoxins. It suggests for the first time gene transfer with cytokines as a promising option for the treatment of septic shock.
