Effects of regular exercise on blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy in African-American men with severe hypertension
-
Kokkinos PF, Narayan P, Colleran J, Pittaras A, Notargiacomo A, Reda D, Papademetriou V: Effects of regular exercise on blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy in African-American men with severe hypertension. N Engl J Med 1995, 333:1462-1467. A significant reduction in blood pressure and regression of left ventricular hypertrophy was noted in African-Americans with severe hypertension after moderate-intensity exercise training. The reduction in blood pressure persisted even after a significant reduction in antihypertensive medication.
