Treatment of supraventricular tachycardia due to atrioventricular nodal re-entry by radiofrequency catheter ablation of slow-pathway conduction
-
Jackman WM, Beckman KJ, McClelland JH, Wang X, Friday KJ, Roman CA, et al.: Treatment of supraventricular tachycardia due to atrioventricular nodal re-entry by radiofrequency catheter ablation of slow-pathway conduction. N Engl J Med 1992, 327:313-318. This article concerns the first large series of patients, describing the posterior slow pathway approach for the treatment of AVNRT. The success rate was high with low recurrence rates. Most importantly. RF energy-induced atrioventricular block was significantly lower (1%) than previously reported in the anterior approach. The posterior approach is now the accepted technique for AVNRT.
