    • Research classic: 'Some myths of psychotherapy research and the search for a paradigm': revisited
    • Kiesler DJ: Research classic: 'Some myths of psychotherapy research and the search for a paradigm': revisited. Psychother Res 1995, 5:91-101. Reflecting on his classic 'myths' paper of 1966 [63], the author proposes a paradigm in which patterns of maladjustment require remediation through successful activation of theoretically counteractive mechanisms of patient change. These are activated by therapist miniature interventions. Successful therapist application of a given miniature intervention requires a certain level of expertise within a certain transactional-relational context. Successful patient absorption of a given miniature intervention requires of the patient certain temperamental/trait characteristics and readiness based on previous in-therapy episodes.
