2N peak appeared as a quartet rather than the expected triplet. This phenomenon was not observed for the corresponding 6-OH isomer. A possible explanation is that the structure of 30 exists as the tautomeric an throne with carbonyl group at C7 and hydroxyl group at C1. The OH group could make small couplings with protons on the side chain substituents.
